Company Title vs. Company Name (Handle)​

When creating or managing a company in signageOS, you will see two fields: Title and Name (Handle).

Title​

  • The friendly, human-readable display name of your company.
  • Shown in the signageOS UI, dashboards, and lists.
  • Can be changed at any time.

Name / Handle​

  • A unique, programmatic identifier for your company.
  • Used in URLs and API calls (e.g., https://box.signageos.io/[handle]/...).
  • Must be unique across all companies in signageOS.
  • Can be changed at any time as long as it's unique.
tip

💡 Tip: Use your official company name or a short abbreviation as the Title, and a clean lowercase identifier (no spaces, only letters, numbers, dashes) as the Name/Handle.
