Gapless playback issue

⚠️ Note: The issues are due to HW limitations that cannot be adjusted by signageOS.

LG webOS 3.0 and 3.2 - detailed list here - are not capable of sending screenshots while you play a playlist of FullHD videos in a gapless manner. It's a webOS limitation that results in not gathering screenshots and not be able to show them in the Box or provide them via API.

Unfortunately, there is no solution to this issue. It's connected to the hardware performance and limitations that cannot be overcome unless you opt for non-gapless video playback or you play videos with resolution lower then FullHD.
Due to performance limitations, we set the minimal video length to 3 seconds for gapless playback for LG webOS 3.0 and 3.2. The reason for this change is due to the slower execution of sos.video.prepare().

LG webOS 4.1 and 6.0 struggles to play gapless UHD video playlists. The reason is low GPU memory limiting the preloading of the next UHD video.

To play UHD videos on this model, omit using sos.video.prepare() otherwise, your videos will turn black.
Portrait oriented UHD videos are not supported at all.
